Chess Tournament in Duncan planned for July 28, 2018
Dear friends:
The Cowichan Rapid Open Chess Championship is planned for July 28, 2018 at the Island Savings Center (2687 James Street) in Duncan.
The tournament will be held in the Mesachie Room at the ISC from 10 am to 5 pm.
The event will be a 5-round Swiss tournament with rounds at 10 am, 11:15, 1:30 pm, 2:45, and 4:00.
Entry will be $10.
I have also created a Facebook group called Wood Sense Chess Club for the purpose of promoting the event.
[3rd round has been changed to 1:30, to give the players 1:15 for the 2nd round and an hour for a lunch break.]

The last 2 rounds could be at 2:30 and 3:45 to maintain the same interval as the morning games
Thanks for the comment. I noticed something wrong there yesterday but I was too tired to fix it. I will get at it today.
Ah. I see where I went wrong. I copied the times that VCC used for the April Active ... but I got the 3rd round wrong. It should be 1:30 pm and not 1:15 pm (the idea is to have a full hour for a lunch break) so I will correct it back to 1:30 and leave everything else the way it was.
P.S. I'm going to post a pre-registration list, and try to set up some sort of advance payment system, but for those of you who are NOT on Facebook, you can always send an e mail to me (see above) or simply post here on the blog. It should work fine.
