The entry fee is $10.

I can accept Interac E-transfers at exclam DOT online AT gmail DOT com. The Wood Sense Chess Club in Duncan is open every Monday 6-8 pm, when the library is open, and players in the Cowichan Valley can also register there. Players will also be able to pay their entry fee on site.

Chess Tournament in Duncan planned for July 28, 2018

Dear friends: The Cowichan Rapid Open Chess Championship is planned for July 28, 2018 at the Island Savings Center (2687 James Street) in Duncan. The tournament will be held in the Mesachie Room at the ISC from 10 am to 5 pm. The event will be a 5-round Swiss tournament with rounds at 10 am, 11:15, 1:30 pm, 2:45, and 4:00. Entry will be $10. I have also created a Facebook group called Wood Sense Chess Club for the purpose of promoting the event. [3rd round has been changed to 1:30, to give the players 1:15 for the 2nd round and an hour for a lunch break.]
